The Garces Foundation is dedicated to helping the immigrant community access the educational, healthcare, and food resources they need. By offering multiple programs aimed at immigrant populations – workforce training classes, community health days, and English classes – they are breaking down the barriers faced by people with limited English speaking abilities.

Robert Kurzban has represented the team as Grants Coordinator and Director of Development since 2020, and is experienced in securing funding for projects that make an impact. Kurzban was selected to receive the Hero Award in 2021 on behalf of the Garces Foundation.

People can sign up for twelve weeks of “English for the Restaurant and Everyday Living” (EREL), a class run by the Garces Foundation. Instruction is geared toward the restaurant industry and is aimed at achieving advancement in the profession and competence in identifying and using community resources, including healthcare services.
The fall session for 2021 runs from October 6 – December 17, and online registration is open between September 7 – 19. Go to the Garces Foundation website to sign up.
