Nonprofit organizations are being encouraged to think outside the box to draw in donations during the pandemic. In Robert Kurzban’s opinion, thinking inside the box could make all the difference…

During the pandemic, nonprofit organizations have struggled to stay afloat.  In 2020, donations were down massively, as many committed contributors back away from their regular gifts.  As we enter the third month of 2021, nonprofits are scrambling to make this year better than the last.  How can they do it?

Well, first and foremost, let’s take a look at what has been most prevalent during the pandemic:  separation brought on by social distancing.  This has caused all of us, nonprofit or otherwise, to reshape the way we approach communication.  It is safe to say by now that communicating with others has been forever changed by COVID-19.  But that doesn’t have to be a negative thing!

Robert Kurzban has recently noticed a trend that suggests personalizing requests for donations will go a long way.  Making potential donors and supporters feel connected with your nonprofit is proving to be more valuable now than ever before.  So reach out, communicate and watch how those efforts impact your nonprofit’s received gifts in 2021!
