Food insecurity is an unfortunate hardship faced by millions of American families. Locally, Garces Foundation is doing what they can to help hungry families in need with their weekly food pantry. Garces Foundation Grants Coordinator and Director of Development shares the details:

In 2019, nearly 14 million Americans expressed that they struggled with food insecurity.  The challenge of feeding a family is a common problem in our nation..  One that many families won’t even admit to.  At the local level, the Garces Foundation is doing its part to help feed families and individuals in need.

Every Thursday, the Garces Foundation hosts a food pantry at Giordano’s Garden Groceries.  At this weekly event, the nonprofit supplies families with not only food, but essential items as well, including diapers.  If you are able to lend a helping hand, Robert Kurzban encourages you to volunteer at the food pantry from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.  While fluency in Spanish is not necessary or required, it is certainly helpful and greatly appreciated.
